Horizontal strapping on the top and base of the hood,with vertical strapping on the front and corners of this amazing hood. Raw zinc rivets enhance all the strapping. This hood measures 62″ x 25″ x 37″. It’s a larger hood to accommodate a larger range.  Have a smaller space? No worries easily adaptable to a smaller version. She lives in the small town of Winston Montana.  So what is a more fitting name for this hood than Winston! This hood is as rustic as the area around it. The body of this hood is hand hammered with a light patina. Giving an aged look to the hood. The  blackened and hammered steel bar creates a contrast to the zinc body. Attention to detail is a sign of a quality craftsman this is definitely evident in this piece. The blackened bar is enhanced with blackened steel rivets. The vertical bar has a continuous flow  over the horizontal bar. At the base of the hood is a needle hammered inlay  which is complimented by the 5/8″ zinc rivets. The crown is also smooth with  needle hammered inlay and rivets. Zinc Range Hood Smokey :  Montana has experienced one of the worst fire season in several years. As Jim was creating this range hood the color of the light patina reminded me of the smokey skies over Montana. So there ya go Smokey! This hood is a wall mount. Crafted using .060 zinc material. With welded construction. Heavy hammered body and crown with a slight patina. Two distressed blacked steel bars with steel rivets also blackened adorn the base.  A Smaller range hood with plenty of class and function.                                                                               Measurements : 36″ x 21 ” 34″

Zinc Farm Sink Single Basin Hand Hammered : This farm sink is available in both the raw zinc and the blackened as shown below.  Both are hand hammered and custom crafted. This is an under mount sink, it is also crafted in a surface mount.

 The blackened patina used on our zinc is created with a chemical patina. Zinc will not heat treat to obtain color change so a chemical patina is needed. However zinc will naturally change in color as it ages on it’s own. So if you would prefer to let that process happen raw zinc may be your choice. Zinc is a metal with a number of characteristics that make it an ideal choice for use in residential  kitchens or commercial restaurants.   Additionally, zinc is nonporous, anti-microbial and antibacterial. This zinc range hood is crafted using raw zinc which is hand hammered. The blackened steel bar is distressed by hand hammering, including the steel rivets. Which are also distressed and blackened. Notice the attention to detail with  the vertical steel bar which flows under the horizontal steel bar. Not butted  up against the bar. Allowing a completely finished look. You may notice  the corner steel brackets which also add to the rustic look. This zinc range hood was designed for our client. While looking for something that was both elegant and rustic. Zinc is becoming more and more popular for many applications, zinc counter tops, zinc sinks and zinc range hoods. The Sun River Zinc Range hood is made with the same quality and craftsman ship that is used for  all of our Copper Range hoods.  A Montana craftsman  creates this zinc range hood by hand hammering along with welded construction. While he uses a heat treatment on our copper to achieve the rich copper tones. A chemical patina has been used  in order to get the darker finish on this hood. Along with a liquid carnuaba car wax that has also been  applied prior to shipping.  If your looking for a new look. Maybe something with a warmer look than stainless steel.
